Social & Wellness Activities

Sustaining our Community

The guiding focus for this year’s DLF Forum is sustaining our community. As we head into our second year of virtual events following a year no less tumultous than the last, providing opportunities of sustenance and wellness for our event attendees was our top priority.

Keep an eye on this page as we continue to add social events and wellness resources thoughtfully planned and curated by our incredible Community Committee.

All live events take place in the Midspace conference platform.

#DLFkids Children's Storytime

2:15-2:30 pm ET

Following last year’s children’s book reading at the 2020 DLF Forum and the continuation of a spirit of child care at DLF, this year we’re very excited to feature a reading by author, publisher, journalist, and chief storyteller Denene Millner. Denene will be reading Fresh Princess, which she co-authored with Will Smith. (Yes, THAT Will Smith.)

Grab your juice box and your kid / your pet / yourself, and join us for a short book reading meant for kids of all ages!

Denene Millner is the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of 31 books, including The Fresh Princess, co-written with Will Smith, and The Vow, the novel on which the Lifetime movie, “With This Ring,” was based. Denene also is editor of Denene Millner Books, a Simon & Schuster imprint that won Newbery and Caldecott honors and the Kirkus Prize for Children’s Literature in its debut year. Denene also is co-host of Georgia Public Broadcasting’s “A Seat at the Table,” a talk show about black women, and host of “Speakeasy,” a podcast that examines blackness. Her upcoming novel, “The Beautiful Blood,” (St. Martin’s Press) a multi-generational epic about motherhood, adoption and race, debuts in 2023. The mom of two lives in Atlanta; she is @mybrownbaby across social media platforms.
