Apply to be a DLF Forum Community Journalist

2021 Virtual DLF Forum Community Journalists

The application period for our 2021 Community Journalist Program has closed. Stay tuned for an announcement about this year’s recipients in October.

The 2021 DLF Forum, like last year’s event, will take place online again this fall. Because we aren’t convening in person and registration is low-cost, we have decided to reprise last year’s extremely successful Community Journalist program.

The guiding purpose of this year’s DLF Forum is once again community-based; this year, we are planning our events to be a sustaining experience for our community. Our Community Journalist program will again help us highlight new voices from in the field. Applicants should identify as members of a group (or groups) underrepresented among digital library and cultural heritage practitioners. These include—but are not limited to—folks who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, queer, trans, disabled, or with a nationality outside of the United States. Additionally, folks who are currently enrolled in a library and information science educational program are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications from people who could not only contribute to the diversity of the Forum, but also report on the Forum through a diverse perspective, are also warmly welcomed.

This year, we will again be providing $250 stipends to a cohort of 10 DLF Forum attendees from a variety of backgrounds who apply to be 2021 DLF Forum Community Journalists. We will feature their voices and experiences on the DLF blog after our events this fall.

Interested attendees must register for the 2021 DLF Forum and fill out this lightweight application by Monday, September 20, 2021. Accepted journalists will be notified the week of October 11. Blog posts are due November 30, 2021.
